The Brisbane RAAF Apprentices reunion was held at the Transcontinental Hotel in George Street Brisbane on the 26th February.
The event was somewhat historic in that it was the first time that more than 100 members had attended. It also marked the end of an era when Rob Wilson and his dedicated team comprising off Keith Row, Bill Moore and Dave Lee stepped down.

The incoming committee comprises of Mick Yarrow (Treasurer )from 32 Intake, Ken Goold (Secretary) from 27 Intake and myself Dutchy Holland (President ) also from 27 Intake. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Rob, Keith, Bill and Dave for their years of effort in keeping the Brisbane Apprentice reunion alive. A meeting was held between the old and new committee prior to the event where it was decides to hold the 2021 reunion at the same venue. We have always been welcomed by the staff and management at the Trans and in the few years that I have been attending the numbers have continued to grow. breaking through the 100 barrier was definitely a milestone. I do have one issue with the venue in that it is incredibly noisy there being no carpet of wall furnishings and the bigger the crowd grows, the worst it gets. I have had a bit of similar feed back so I intend to see if we can relocate next years event to the function room upstairs. We will let you know the outcome of our discussions in due course.
As has become the case in recent times, 27 Intake The RATS took out the largest nuber of attendees award for 2020 with 10 members present followed closely by the Mangoes with 9. I have to say that I an impressed that the Mangoes have been well represented for many years with wives and partners making a real day of it. Bravo Mangoes!
As you can see here there is a new website under construction and I am looking for all Intake organizers to contact me on 0499229911 or mholland@electriciansplus.com.au so that we can add specific content to the intake pages. We also welcome all Radio Apprentices and I will add JEATS and any others later.
In the meantime I would ask you to give the committee the heads up on any news or upcoming events so that we can advertise here. If you would like to add to news just email me the text and some photos and I will endeavor to get it loaded immediately.
I look forward to seeing you all at the next Brisbane Reunion in 2021 provisionally booked for the 27th of February.
Well may you suggest that the Scorpions will outdo the RATS next year.... But you don't know the RATS! Challenge accepted!
I reckon that the 28 Scorpions might set a new attendance record at the 2021 gathering.... The challenge is out there fellow Sprogs!.... Many thanks to Chris and Pop thus far for getting the Scorpions together
